Curtains may be decorative but they are also functional as well, keeping out bright sunshine, preventing upholstered furniture from fading and keeping in warmth during winter, and this is why they are a detail worth getting right. To ensure this we have a dedicated team of qualified machinists who hand craft all our made to measure curtains in our own state of the art work room in Christchurch, always to the very highest quality standards.

With custom made drapes there are a number of headings to choose from, including pencil pleat, inverted pleat, triple pleat and double pleat. Headings have a big impact on the overall look of the drape as they control the way in which the curtain will hang and how it will stack back.

Pencil pleat

Pencil pleat is our most popular, versatile heading, as it can offer both an elegant or relaxed look and has the ability to be adjusted width wise.

Inverted Pleat

Inverted pleat is one of the more contemporary curtain headings, and is a fashionable choice for its clean, neat look when drawn closed. It can be made at either 60% fullness or 100% fullness, depending on what the fabric lends itself to.

Triple Pleat

Triple pleat, also known as a French pleat, is a classic formal heading made up of three pleats grouped together. This style is best suited to long, floor-length curtains as it encourages the curtains to hang in attractive, orderly folds.

Double Pleat

Double pleat or Bi-pleat is a slightly less formal heading than triple pleat and is made up of two pleats grouped together. It stacks back tightly and is therefore a good choice if you have limited space to draw the curtains back.
